The summer of 1990 saw the first issue of the critical criminology newsletter being devoted to a theme - which for this issue was left realist criminology. This came off the back of the first international conference on realist criminology in May of that year in Vancouver. Interviews were conducted with leading left realists from Jock Young to Marty Schwartz whilst left realists from afar as Australia reflected on the prospects for the approach in their country.
